As you may have seen if you visited our website, the registration for the Brussels Convention is opened.
The event will take place at the Courtyard Marriott from Brussels, perfectly located between Brussels International Airport and downtown. The Courtyard is easily accessible by car, train (Jules Bordet station 500m) or bus (Permeke bus-stop 150m).
The beautiful Courtyard Hotel offers the special EBCA rate of 75 € per room per night (including breakfast) for guests making their reservation prior to the 1st of November through the following link.

Like every year, the Convention will feature a great mix of speakers from Europe and the US from the youth to the professional level in order for every coach to learn something he can use to improve the game on the old continent.
Price for the Convention and the 2010 EBCA membership is 50 €
The clinic will start Friday the 20th of November at 6.00PM to end Sunday the 22nd at 3.00PM.

This year again, the EBCA, with the help of International Sports Group, is able to set up a great line-up of speakers that will include: (full list of speakers and schedule will be sent later)
Jim Lefebvre:
Jim Lefebvre played 8 seasons for the LA Dodgers. He won the National League Rookie of the Year in 1965 and was selected for the All Star game a year later. He also won the 1965 World Series.
Jim played in the Nippon Pro League from 1973 to 1976 before returning to the US as a coach.
Jim was a Manager at the Major League level with Seattle Mariners, Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers.£
Jim was also the Manager of China‘s National Team at the 2006 World Baseball Classic and at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Jim Jones :
Jim Jones has over 40 years of baseball coaching experience at the youth, high school, college, semi-pro and international (Czech Republic, France, Spain, Holland) levels. He served as assistant coach at Stanford University before becoming head coach at the University of Wyoming and St. Mary’s College(CA). Presently he is retired from teaching and serves as President of International Sports Group, Inc. At the 2006 European Baseball Coaches Association's winter convention, Jim received EBCA's Achievement Award in recognition of his work in European Baseball since the early 1990's.

Mauro Mazzotti :
Mauro Mazzotti was born on September 12, 1959 in Cesena, Italy and is the only coach in Italian history to win four championships with three different clubs (Rimini 1999, Bologna 2003/2005, Grosseto 2007).
Between 1994 and 2006 he coordinated the scouting activities of the Seattle Mariners in Europe and works in the same position with the Houston Astros since 2007.
This season, his club team, Telemarket Rimini made it to the IBL play-offs, and finished in first place.
Mauro is currently coaching the Spanish National Team at the World Cup and after qualifying for the second round, also taking care of one of the biggest upsets in the tournament by handing out Venezuela its first loss in the competition.
Steve Janssen :
Steve Janssen was a catcher in the Belgian leagues, beginning his career in 1987 at age 15. He played on 7 national champions in Belgium before retiring in 1997. He then coached in Belgium for two years. From 2000-2002, he coached the DOOR Tridents in Eerste Klasse. He then was pitching coach for DOOR Neptunus through 2005, helping the team win a Holland Series each year he held that job. He was also a pitching coach for the Dutch national team at times from 2002-2005.
In 2006, he was a coach with Neptunus. He was technical director of the Belgian Baseball Federation in 2007. For 2008, he was hired as head coach of Sparta/Feyenoord and led them to a 21-21 record.
In 2009, DOOR Neptunus then brought him back, this time as their head coach and Steve didn’t disappoint, helping the Rotterdam powerhouse to land its first title since 2005, a record tying 12th national crown in the team history.
Brian Farley :
Brian Farley pitched six seasons in the minor leagues, after which he became active in Dutch baseball.
Farley was drafted out of junior college in the 8th round of the 1981 January draft by the California Angels. Continuing on to Vanderbilt, he was selected in the 6th round of the 1982 amateur draft by the St. Louis Cardinals.
Farley went to the Netherlands in 1988 as a player-coach for a team in Eerste Klasse. In 1992, he moved to Oosterhout and made his Hoofdklasse debut with them. He remained a player-coach for the club through 1996. In 1998, Brian came to HCAW as their head coach, a position he held for three seasons.
In 1998, he was voted Coach of the Year in the Hoofdklasse.
In the 2000 Olympics, Brian was an assistant coach for the Dutch national team. He was pitching coach for the national team in 2001-2002 and regained the position in 2005. He was with the club for the 2005 Baseball World Cup, 2006 Intercontinental Cup and 2008 Olympics among other events. He is currently the Head Coach of the Dutch junior national team that finished second at the European championship in Bonn.
Vaughn Robinson :
Vaughn Robinson has just completed his second season as a strength and conditioning coach in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.
He is also active in Europe during the Winter as he is working with all the top prospects from the European Academies.
